From your hotel or apartment in Paramaribo you arrive at our comfortable reception lounge at the local Zorg en Hoop airport. Here you can relax and wait for the departure of your flight to Amatopo while we take care of the check-in of your luggage.
We take to the air on time and upon take-off you can enjoy the view of the entire city and the Suriname River with the impressive Wijdenbosch Bridge.
After a flight of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes (370 kilometers) over the dense tropical rainforest and along the striking contours of the Bakhuis Mountains, our destination comes into view.
We fly over the Corantijn to make a large turn and fly past the lodge and the adjacent village towards the well-constructed airstrip.
After landing, you will be greeted by our staff in the reception building with a refreshing drink. Then we head towards the lodge on the forest path that leads straight through the rainforest. In the meantime, you will receive some explanation what you see around you and the rules and agreements with the local village council will also be discussed.
Once you arrive at the lodge, you will enjoy the brilliant view over the river and the surrounding forest and we will take you to your room where your luggage has already been delivered.
Then it is time for lunch, served in our main lodge dining area located high above the river. Here you will become more acquainted with the guides who will accompany you, our chef and your lodge manager.
We will briefly inform you about important information for your stay, specific times and appointments. You will also receive additional information about the area and we will briefly discuss the programs for the coming days.
After the delicious refreshing lunch, it is time for a tour of our entire site where your guide will introduce you to the necessary flora and fauna. After the tour you will have plenty of free time to relax in your air-conditioned room or enjoy the rapids in front of the resort.
At 7:00 PM it is time for dinner and you can fully experience the sunset from the west-facing dining area. Hear the sounds of the evening rising from the forest and marvel at the tranquility you experience. Look up, when the weather is clear you can see countless stars because we have no light pollution...
After dinner you can enjoy for a long time with a drink and good company.
