Every day at Amatopo starts with a varied breakfast that Chef has prepared for you, a tasty mix of cold toppings and hot dishes accompanied by fruit to start your day well. Coffee lovers will also get their money's worth with freshly brewed individual espresso and lungos from Lavazza.
After breakfast we prepare for a brisk walk through the rainforest. Look at Clothing advice and Gear to see what you should bring with you. Our adventurous hike of 2,5 to 3 hours takes you straight over hills, along creeks and swamps. Along the way you can hear and see several birds and sometimes also spot animals if we are lucky.
You will be accompanied by our own guide and a local guide. You will be surprised how much there is to tell about our forest! At the end of the Lucie Trail we arrive at the banks of the beautiful Lucie River, which experts and biologists call one of the most pristine rivers in Suriname.
Here is our camp for the afternoon where we will provide a few surprises. There is plenty to see and do for a few hours and we will of course provide delicious food and drinks. We will now tell you that you do not have to walk back, our comfortable aluminum boats will take you back to the lodge later in the afternoon via an astonishingly beautiful route between the more then 35 islands that make the Lucie delta a maze. You will encounter white water, rocks, lots of birds and beautiful untouched nature…
Back at the lodge you will have plenty of time to rest and recover from all the impressions you have gained. We end the second day with another culinary high-quality buffet in the restaurant.
