After breakfast we leave by boat across the Corantijn in a southerly direction. Depending on the water level, you will see beautiful rocks of deep black granite, challenging rapids where we sometimes have to sail against a small waterfall, many birds that fly up or fly over, in the dry season lime and orange coloured butterflies that make the crossing and may come to sit on the boat to rest. The green wall of trees and plants, which can be up to 40 meters high, lines the river all the way to the water. We sail between the many rocky but fully vegetated islands that this part of the river has. Some groups have also seen big cats such as pumas or howler monkeys that often visit the trees here in the morning hours. Other inhabitants of this human-free area include tapir, capybara, jaguar, agouti (type of rabbit), deer, pingos (small wild pigs) and caimans.

Our very spectacular destination awaits at the end of the trail, but we will keep that to ourselves for now, you really have to experience this for yourself…
After a delicious lunch you will have plenty of time to enjoy in and around our base camp and after our hike and return trip to the resort you will be tired but very satisfied!
Take some time for a nap or relax on your balcony. The next culinary challenge awaits you at 7:00 PM. After dinner it is time for fun and chatting and a little bit of saying goodbye...
